Outdoor DIY Wedding at Birdsong Barn, Titusville, Florida

I leave you this weekend with some beautiful pictures from my sister's wedding this past November!

It had been a warm week, as is custom here in Florida around this time of year but that day the temperatures dropped unexpectedly. It was chilly outside but beautiful and the skies were clear. My sister chose Birdsong Barn in Titusville as her venue which provided so many vintage props, tables and chairs. I woke up early to help my sister get ready for the big day. As a hairstylist and make-up artist, it only made sense that I had a hand in helping her feel beautiful for her wedding. It's a memory I'll cherish. And though we did go wedding dress shopping at BHLDN Chicago, my sister decided to go with another BHLDN dress - a little more delicate and simple, which is more her style! The bridesmaids wore navy, as did the groomsmen and all of our bouquets were made of dried wild flowers. All together, everything looked magical.

Enjoy the rest of the photos!

5 Favorite Quotes: Love

Lakeland Outdoor Engagement Shoot by Sunglow Photography

Not too long ago, I made a diy wedding guestbook through Shutterfly.

In it I had our engagement photos, a place where our wedding guests can leave us their wishes, and a few of my favorite love and wedding quotes. I wanted it to be something we would save for a long time, after our wedding, that we could look back on to spark some warm cuddly feelings should we ever need them.

Here are a few of the quotes I put in the book - just a few of my favorites.

And I'd choose you; in a hundred lifetimes, in a hundred worlds, in any version of reality - I'd find you and I'd choose you.

52 Hand Lettered Project: My Mantra for 2015

52 Hand Lettered Project: Week 1

I've decided to start a year-long hand lettering project, inspired by Pen and Peplum. I've been thinking more and more about how to record memories in a meaningful way that will allow me to look back someday and see how I've grown. This first week, the project is about your mantra for the year. I might sound like a broken record by now but I've settled on the word balance. Over the years, I've learned the importance of saying no and having a life outside of work. In my case, it's about prioritizing your time to do the things that you love and be with the people you love. It's about finding what makes you happy and having just enough of that to feel happy most of the time. There was a time when my whole life revolved around work and getting things done, and now I'm learning to be happy spending time doing nothing. I've learned to be at peace. While I haven't mastered it quite yet, it's what I'd like to focus doing for this year. So, balance it is!

DIY Grecian Leaf Bridesmaids Crown

Step-by-Step DIY and How-To for Grecian Leaf Bridesmaids Crowns

If you've been following along with our wedding planning, you'll know that I am trying to DIY everything I possibly can in order to stay within our modest budget. My latest DIY to tackle are these bridesmaid crowns. I've tried my hand at making flower crowns before, so I knew from the beginning that I would definitely try again for our wedding. I won't say these are "easy" to make, but definitely worthwhile once you get the hang of it! Next I'll be doing a DIY of my own bridal flower crown, but that might have to wait until after the wedding - so I don't spoil any surprises!

2014 Year in Review

Follow on Bloglovin

So I'm a couple of days late in reviewing 2014, but better late than never! I began this blog last year to try to record every moment, big and small, of our new life together. My goal was to be able to look back at all of these photos and adventures someday, and see how far we've come, grown and changed (hopefully, all for the better). I hope to someday share it with our kids and maybe they'll even see themselves grow on here too.

With that being said, I thought a year-in-review would be appropriate - to look back every year and see how my answers might change. Read on if you would like, or don't, but thank you anyway for following our little journey.
